I am sure excited to be the President’s Project Chairman for President Tommy Hughes. We are going to ask you to make donations, hold fund raisers and events so that we can upgrade the fishing and picnic areas surrounding Lake Good Hope at the Towbin VA Hospital. This is an area that is used to host Fishing Derby’s including the VFW Auxiliary’s October Derby.

This is not an inexpensive endeavor. There is much that needs done. We are working closely with the CDCE Chief to ensure that all the cleaning, painting and repairs meet the standards of the VA. The roof of the covered picnic area needs to be replaced, the metal poles need to be painted, and a storage shed needs repairs and to be secured. Picnic tables need to be purchased so that there is permanent seating for cookouts. Electric outlets need to be updated, and a water supply made available. A lot needs to be done. Your donations can make this happen.

Let’s see how inventive you can be in your efforts to raise funds and make donations that will enhance the outside venue that Veterans should have when they wish to enjoy the beautiful lake that is on hospital property.
