Continuing Education Scholarship.  ***BIG ALERT*** The National President’s Special Project is this scholarship. We are being asked to raise funds as well as make the members more aware of this scholarship opportunity. It is hoped that with increased funding, more scholarships can be offered to our members and their immediate family. This scholarship is open to any VFW Auxiliary member (that has been a member for a minimum of 1 year), their spouse, son, or daughter. It has not been promoted as well as it should be. Scholarship requirements are in MALTA. The deadline is February 15, 2026, and applications get mailed directly to National.

Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest and 3-Dimential Patriotic Art Contest

Spread the word about these art contests where the young artists are: schools, churches, skate parks, restaurants, etc., use your imagination. Talk to youth leaders, teachers and counselors for other ideas and suggestions. Be sure to get permission from schools and businesses before posting information.

The Scholarships link on the VFW Auxiliary National Website contains everything that you need to promote the art contests; how to apply, where to submit the entry, etc. Use the information listed there to ensure that you follow through with all necessary steps and meet deadlines.

Essay Contests:  One of the best ways’ members can support their VFW Post is through the VFW Essay Contests that are comprised of Voice of Democracy for grades 9–12 and Patriots Pen for grades 6–8. Auxiliary members should assist in getting the information for this outstanding program to others in their communities. The purpose of the Auxiliary is to support the VFW, and this is one activity that needs further publicity and backing. Rules at www.vfw.org.
